📱 Duolingo App Downloads >15x Higher Than Other Language Apps

Duolingo has consistently led in mobile application downloads surpassing competitors by millions. As an early entrant to the language learning market, Duolingo has secured a large user base with its user-friendly interface, engaging game mechanics, and availability of a wide range of languages. Mondly, Busuu, Babbel, and HelloTalk also maintained their user engagement, but with varying download numbers each month. The language learning market has seen massive growth due to the convenience and affordability of mobile applications, the rise in globalization, and the desire to connect and experience new cultures.

🔋 The US Leads in Global Cumulative Electric Energy Storage Capacity

The United States leads with 31% of the global distribution of cumulative electric energy storage capacity. A combination of factors including government policies, integration of renewable energy, ongoing grid modernization efforts and favorable market conditions has led to this. Policies like the Inflation Reduction Act and state-level initiatives offering tax credits and incentives for renewable energy investments have contributed to the expansion of electric energy storage capacity. The global distribution of electric energy storage capacity is growing, an important element in balancing supply and demand within electricity networks, particularly in light of the growing integration of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. Regions like North America, Europe, and East Asia lead in this growth, driven by their quick adoption of renewable energy technologies and supportive governmental frameworks.

⛳ US Golf Courses Could Host 5x Current Installed Solar

The land area used for utility-scale solar in the US amounts to approximately 500,000 acres. Solar, being a sustainable form of renewable energy, has immense potential if harnessed properly and efficiently.  In just five minutes, enough sunlight shines on the US to satisfy the country's electricity demand for an entire month, with research indicating that the entirety of the US could be powered by utility-scale solar occupying just 0.6% of the nation's land mass.

There are many prospects for expanding solar power in the US. Airports and golf courses alone can accommodate over five times the existing utility-scale solar PV capacity. US continental roads, 5% of corn and soybean farms, and cotton farms could house upwards of ten times the current capacity. While China is hosting many solar farm projects in desert regions leveraging its vast geographical resources, the US is expanding in innovative ways, including carports, retired golf courses, floating solar farms, landfills, and decommissioned fossil fuel sites.
