๐Ÿก The Rise of Homeschooling

Homeschooling, once viewed as an unconventional choice for educating children, has gained wider acceptance due to factors including dissatisfaction with traditional schools and the increasing demand for personalized education. Additionally, digital resources and online platforms have made homeschooling more viable, and the advent of digital and physical "school-in-a-box" has further streamlined the homeschooling process for parents.

In the future, expect homeschooling hybrid models to emerge, blending elements of home and school-based learning, combining personalized learning from homeschool models with the social offerings and specialized content of traditional schools. Headwinds in the global education sector such as teacher shortages and chronic absenteeism, could further propel the growth of homeschooling. As the home education market evolves, new solution providers and models will address the diverse and expanding needs of families.

Homeschooling is widely accepted in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, where legal frameworks are well established. The future of this market hinges heavily on government regulation, with stricter frameworks potentially emerging in regions experiencing significant homeschooling growth to ensure education quality.

The COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical events have given rise to more parental involvement in public school reform movements. For example, there is a rising popularity of school choice movements and homeschooling in the USโ€”approximately 3 million (6%) students were homeschooled in 2021โ€“22. The homeschool population had been growing at an estimated 2-8% each year, but it increased 25% from 2019 to 2022. Australia and the UK are also seeing rising numbers above pre-pandemic levels.
