🕹️ Simulated and Immersive Learning
Simulated and immersive learning environments are shedding their niche reputation and becoming increasingly accessible across diverse training applications. This accessibility is fueled by innovations that drive down costs and make these solutions more feasible for a wider range of institutions.
While still in the early stages of adoption, higher education is embracing the potential of simulated and immersive learning to enhance student experiences. The University of Oklahoma's simulation lab for nursing students exemplifies this trend, allowing them to gain realistic experience in a safe environment. Similarly, the University of Miami collaborated with ENGAGE XR to create a metaverse learning environment, enabling immersive experiences across 40 courses.
This growing adoption aligns with the rising investment activity observed in immersive and simulated learning solutions during Q1 of 2024. While these solutions are still at an early stage within HolonIQ's digital capability framework, recent activity suggests a growing acceptance of these technologies as valuable additions to the higher education landscape.
