Duolingo has consistently led in mobile application downloads surpassing competitors by recording over 16M downloads in September 2023. Mondly, Busuu, Babbel, and HelloTalk also maintained their user engagement, but have yet to consistently reach 1M monthly downloads regularly. Duolingo launched an AI chatbot service in partnership with OpenAI to offer more AI-integrated solutions. Expect more language learning platforms to integrate AI, VR, and AR technologies into their systems to stay competitive.
