📚 K12 Index grows by over 70% in 6 months
HolonIQ K12 Index: The index, which includes businesses that offer educational software, online learning environments, and other goods and services associated with education, posted a strong growth of over 70% in the last six months. A variety of reasons, including the growing popularity of blended learning methods, may point to strong success. Notable events during this period include the New Jersey Department of Education approving a pre-qualified tutoring provider, Nerdy’s Varsity Tutors, as the 2023/24 High-Impact Tutoring Program. The provider of cloud-based software for K12, PowerSchool, partnered with AMISA on November 28 for the expansion of PowerSchool’s channel partner program in Latin America. In addition, Instructure struck a partnership with Khan Academy to create an AI-powered tutoring and teaching assistant tool.
💰 Funding
🌊 120Water, a Indiana based developer of a subscription-based water testing platform, raised $43M from Allos Ventures, to further expand the team, technology investments, and go-to-market efforts.
🔬 Myrobalan Therapeutics, a Massachusetts based biotechnology company, raised a $24M Series A from Co-win Ventures, to use the funds to advance its first program addressing therapies for neurological conditions.
🌱 Enifer, a Finland-based biotech startup, secured a $13M Grant from NextGenerationEU, to build a first-of-its-kind mycoprotein ingredient factory.
🔄 Resynergi, a California - based leader in plastic recycling technology, raised a $6.4M Series B from Transitions First (T1ST) & Lummus Technology to scale production of its modular Continuous Microwave Assisted Pyrolysis (CMAP) technology, and to expand its executive team to drive growth.
🦷 Peerlogic, a Scottsdale, AZ-based AI-driven technology company servicing dental offices, raised a $5.65M Seed from AZ-VC, to scale its impact through expansion of innovative product solutions, enhancement of Large Language Model (LLM), and development of advanced call analytics and engagement tools.
💼 Acquisitions
🔍 Karl Storz, a Germany based endoscopy equipment manufacturer, acquired Innersight Labs, a UK based innovative software manufacturer. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
⚡ Energy Capital Partners (ECP), a New-Jersey based leading infrastructure investor, acquired Triple Oak Power, a Oregon based renewable project developer with a development pipeline exceeding 8 GW.
💊 Evaluate, a UK based pharmaceutical insights provider, acquired J+D Forecasting, a UK based leading provider of forecasting solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.
