π« US Degree Holders' Unemployment Fell to 2% in 2022
From 1992 to 2022, US unemployment rates inversely correlated with education levels. Those without a high school diploma peaked at nearly 15% in 2010, while bachelorβs degree holders reached 2% in 2019 and 2022. The 2024-2029 US Government Strategy on International Basic Education aims to improve learning outcomes, expand access for marginalized groups, and coordinate resources to enhance education and reduce unemployment.
βοΈ >25% Decline in Japanβs Nuclear Electricity Generation
Nuclear energyβs share of Japanβs electricity generation fell from over 30% to 7.5% from 2000 to 2022, primarily due to the 2011 Fukushima disaster. The ensuing shutdowns led to a temporary halt in nuclear production in 2014. Though nuclear energy has since rebounded under stricter protocols, Japan still aims to reach 20-22% nuclear generation by 2030 for energy security and climate goals.
π Mean Time To Identify Data Breaches Down by 18 Days
The global mean time to identify data breaches peaked at 212 days in 2021 and declined to 194 days in 2024. The mean time to contain breaches decreased from 66 days in 2017 to 64 days by 2024, after peaking at 75 days in 2021. In 2024, the average cost of a data breach reached nearly $5M globally, with US breaches averaging just below $10M. Breaches lasting over 200 days incurred approximately $5.5M, highlighting the financial impact of timely response and containment strategies.
