👶 Median Hourly Wages of US Preschool Teachers Stayed Stagnant

Median hourly earnings for US preschool teachers stagnated between 2015 and 2022. Preschool teachers are typically paid less than their kindergarten and school-level counterparts, with notable wage disparities across states. As teacher shortages grow nationwide, low pay continues to deter new entrants and drive attrition. Even as many states now mandate bachelor’s degrees and certification, wages remain stubbornly low, undermining workforce stability in early education.

🍃 Pumped Hydro Remains the World’s Largest Energy Storage

Pumped-storage hydropower remained the largest energy storage source in 2023, reaching nearly 200GW, maintaining its dominance in large-scale storage. Meanwhile, battery energy storage systems saw the fastest growth, driven by falling costs and rapid technological advancements. Although solar energy generation has now surpassed hydropower, managing it effectively requires robust storage capacity. As countries push for net-zero targets, expanding energy storage is critical to ensuring stability and sustainability in green energy systems.

🤖 Younger Generations Agreed More Strongly That AI Will Impact Their Jobs

Views on AI’s impact on jobs vary across age groups. Younger generations, drawn to tech-driven careers, are more likely to believe AI will reshape their work environments. Older generations, shaped by past revolutions like the internet and digital transformation, see AI as a tool to boost efficiency. Based on their accumulated experience, they believe AI still lacks the human judgment needed to handle complex, real-world challenges, making them less likely to think it will significantly affect their jobs.
