🏫 <30% of Minnesota High Schools Offer CS Courses
In 2023, over 90% of public high schools in states like Alabama and Tennessee taught foundational CS courses, while less than 40% did so in Arizona and Minnesota, revealing regional gaps. The federal Computer Science for All initiative and Alabama’s state policy mandating CS courses aim to expand equitable access. These policies focus on funding, teacher training, and curriculum standards to ensure all students gain essential digital skills nationwide.

In 2023, the US topped the Government AI Readiness Index with 84.8, followed by Singapore and the U.K. This leadership stems from policies like the Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence and the National AI Initiative Act of 2020, which promote ethical AI governance, federal coordination, and workforce development. Emerging adopters like Malaysia and Portugal are also investing heavily in AI infrastructure and governance.
🍃 7M Renewable Energy Jobs in China
In 2023, China led renewable energy employment with 7.4M jobs, supported by the Guideline on Energy Work in 2023 and the 14th Five-Year Plan for Renewable Energy. The European Union followed behind Asia with early 2M jobs, driven by the Renewable Energy Directive to achieve 2030 targets. The US, India, and Brazil also saw strong job growth, while Africa and Oceania lagged. Governments are advancing policies to boost renewable capacity and innovation, supporting global green job creation.
