๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป Tech Upskilling Landscape

The global digital skills gap, which is estimated to bring a shortage of over 85 million tech workers and annual revenue loss of $8 trillion by 2030 is impacting major economies such as the US, Europe, China, Japan, among many other countries. Governments globally are creating incentives, investments and partnerships to ensure their future workforces are digital ready. However traditional education systems are not well equipped to deliver to the scope and scale required, prompting a range of commercial solutions in the market. For example, tech giants such as Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Cisco, and IBM have announced initiatives to train the workforce, especially in emerging economies, while traditional providers like Pluralsight and New Horizons offer personalized, employer-led programs. Bootcamps and MOOC models, including Le Wagon and Coursera, provide fast-paced, market-tailored courses and platforms like GitHub and Free Code Camp foster collaboration and open platforms for digital learning. Companies such as Cybrary offer specialized technology courses, while Camp K12 and Codemao concentrate on K-12 technology literacy.
