With new monthly sales records, Norway is expected to reach 100% EV sales by 2025. Similarly, LATAM  is seeing increased electric bus adoption, with around 5,900 buses operating in 41 cities across 12 countries. Volkswagen is contemplating plant closures in Germany to cut costs as it transitions to electric vehicles. We’re witnessing how hydrogen is revolutionizing transportation with cleaner, sustainable solutions. Hybrid Air Vehicles is developing the Airlander, a hydrogen-powered aircraft aiming for zero-emission aviation by 2030. California plans to launch its first hydrogen-powered passenger train service in San Bernardino next year. Lloyd's Register approved two zero-emission hydrogen ferries designed by Shiptec. On financial prospects, Saudi auto tech startup Syarah has raised $60M in Series C funding led by Artal Capital and Elm.

🚗 Norway Nears 100% Electric Car Sales. Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association expects electric car sales in Norway to reach 100% by 2025 as sales set new monthly records.

🚌 Electric bus adoption gains momentum in Latin America. The E-Bus Radar report indicates that around 5,900 electric buses from manufacturers like BYD, Foton, and Yutong operate across 41 cities in 12 Latin American countries.

⚠️ Volkswagen Mulls Plant Closures to Cut Costs Amid EV Shift. Volkswagen is considering closing some of its plants in Germany to save costs as the company faces challenges in shifting from traditional vehicles to electric models.

🛬 Aviation

✈️ Governments Mandate Sustainable Aviation Fuel to Reduce Emissions. South Korea joined the EU in mandating Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) to reduce aviation emissions. T'way Airlines, a South Korean low-cost carrier, will use SAF on its inaugural Paris flight this month to support this initiative.

✈️ German Aerospace Center Tests Volocopter Air Taxi. The German Aerospace Center (DLR) successfully tested the VoloCity electric air taxi from Volocopter, a German aviation startup, bringing it closer to certification.

✈️ Zero-Emission Hydrogen Aviation Innovations. Hybrid Air Vehicles is developing a hydrogen-powered aircraft called Airlander to achieve zero-emission aviation by 2030.

🚋 Rail

🚆 California Pioneers Hydrogen-Powered Passenger Trains. California plans to launch the first hydrogen-powered passenger train service in San Bernardino, California, early next year.

🚆 Railway Line Reopening and Electrification Agreed in Germany. An agreement was reached to reopen and electrify the 7.4 km Homburg (Saar) - Zweibrücken railway line in southwestern Germany.

🚇 Daejeon Progresses Hydrogen-Powered Light Rail Project. The Korean city of Daejeon initiated the bidding process for constructing Line 2 of its hydrogen-powered light rail system.

🚢 Marine

🚢 Shipping Industry Embraces Supply Chain Transparency. More companies in the shipping industry are recognizing the necessity of better reporting and considering how a collaborative approach can help achieve supply chain transparency. This is driven by tightening regulations and the trend towards ESG reporting.

⚓️ Zero-Emission Hydrogen Ferries Get Approval. Lloyd's Register granted approval in principle for two zero-emission hydrogen passenger ferries designed by Shiptec, a marine engineering company.

⚡️ Sustainable Solar Electric Boats Launched in India. Navalt, a sustainable marine mobility developer, is introducing solar electric boats in India, making a sustainable impact in Asia.

💰 Saudi Autotech Startup Syarah Raises $60M Series C. Syarah, a Saudi Arabia-based auto tech company, raised $60M in a Series C funding round led by Artal Capital, with participation from Elm.

⚓️ Maritime Data Firm OceanScore Raises $5.3M Series A. OceanScore, a Hamburg-based company providing maritime compliance and data solutions, has secured $5.3M in an oversubscribed Series A funding round.

🚗 PGW Auto Glass Acquires PH Vitres d'Autos. One Equity-backed PGW Auto Glass acquired auto glass distributor PH Vitres d'Autos from Driven Brands.

🚗 Classic Collision Expands in Minnesota with Acquisition. Classic Collision, an automotive repair company, acquired three auto shops in Minnesota that were previously owned by a family business established in 1957.

🚢 Norden Completes Norlat Shipping Acquisition. Danish shipping company Norden closed its acquisition of Nordic dry bulk operator Norlat Shipping.

🚚 MEDLOG Acquires UK Logistics Firm Maritime Group. MEDLOG, a logistics company, acquired Maritime Group Limited, a UK-based logistics operator.

🚚 Scan Global Logistics Expands in Latin America with Blu Logistics Brasil Acquisition. As part of its growth strategy in Latin America, Scan Global Logistics (SGL) acquired Blu Logistics Brasil (Blu), a logistics company based in Brazil.
