🏫 Philippines Had the Highest Compulsory Education Duration Within APAC

In 2023, the Philippines had the highest compulsory education duration, while Myanmar and Bangladesh had the lowest at five years. Governments implemented policies to extend schooling, with Indonesia aiming for 12 years under SDG-aligned reforms and Mongolia leveraging ADB funding to enhance learning outcomes. Bangladesh aims to expand mandatory schooling from Class 5 to 8 under the National Education Policy. These initiatives underscored efforts to bridge disparities through systemic reforms and improved learning environments.

🍃 UK Accounts for 200K+ Sustainable Job Postings

In 2023, the UK recorded 229,000 sustainable job postings, followed by Germany with 60,500 and France with 16,500. The UK's strong demand is supported by its Green Jobs Taskforce and Net Zero Strategy, aiming to create 2M green jobs by 2030 through targeted training and apprenticeships. Germany’s Climate Action Programme promotes green skills through vocational education reforms, while France’s Skills Investment Plan supports reskilling and job placement in sustainable sectors.

🤖 300% Growth in LinkedIn Members' AI skills

In 2022, “question answering” was the fastest-growing AI related skill on LinkedIn, rising by 332%, followed by classification, recommender systems, and computer vision. This trend reflects a growing global demand for applied AI skills. Governments are responding through initiatives like the EU’s Digital Education Action Plan, the UK’s National AI Strategy, and India’s AIFORALL, which focuses on AI workforce development through public investment in training, education, and digital upskilling.
