Countries recalibrated international education strategies, focusing on attracting and retaining talent through visa policies, enrolment caps, and residency pathways.HolonIQ's Back to School Summit is two weeks away!

Happy Monday 👋

This week, countries recalibrated their international educational strategies to attract and retain talent. Poland unveiled new visa restrictions to draw more international students with verified diplomas, following concerns that some universities are enrolling thousands of students without proper eligibility checks, while Australia introduced enrolment caps to better manage its international student numbers, aiming to address concerns raised by universities about the financial impact of the previous policy. Canada rolled out a direct permanent residency pathway for French-speaking students, particularly targeting talent from Africa, enhancing its appeal as a destination for diverse global talent. India’s Prime Minister emphasized the need to improve domestic education to retain students, reflecting growing concerns over brain drain. These developments highlight a global race to adapt to shifting educational demands and demographics. As competition intensifies, expect nations to continue innovating in their approach to international education, reshaping the global market in the process.
