๐ŸŽ“ Indonesian Student Enrolment in the UK Increased by >65%

Indonesian international student enrolment in the UK increased by over 65% between 2015 and 2024, with a notable rise after 2021. Despite the UKโ€™s strong global reputation for quality education, only around 3,000 Indonesians study there, given a population of 280M, due to high living costs and tuition fees. Scholarships offered by UK universities are helping academically strong students access opportunities. Continued support could further boost enrolment in the coming years.

โš•๏ธ Number of Doctors in Canada Increased by 5 per 10K People

Canada continues to face a persistent shortage of medical doctors, especially family physicians, despite a rise in the overall number of doctors over the past decade. A recent federal report highlights a growing gap between supply and demand, with only around 1.3K new graduates annually, far too few to meet national needs. Geographic imbalances and licensing barriers further worsen access. Experts now urge that Canadian-trained doctors be allowed to practice nationwide without additional licensing to improve efficiency and address critical shortages.

๐Ÿค– Nearly 60% of all AI Patents Originated From China

AI patents represent intellectual property protection for inventions related to Artificial Intelligence. Nearly 60% of all AI patents granted globally originated from China in 2022, and it's still rising. Recently, Google has solidified its position as the most active player in the field of GenAI; despite this, Chinese academic and commercial institutions made a strong showing, with three universities ranking in the top 10 globally. Despite geopolitical headwinds, Chinaโ€™s AI sector continues its rapid growth trajectory, underscoring its enduring innovation momentum.
