🧑💼 India's Teacher Training Budget Halved in 2023
India's budget for teacher training and adult education fell from ₹2.5B in FY 2022 to ₹1.27B in FY 2023, a 49% decline that jeopardizes educational quality. Despite this, initiatives like the New India Literacy Programme aim to enhance adult literacy and vocational skills for 50M learners by 2027. Between 2000 and 2023, wildfires in Brazil's Legal Amazon fluctuated significantly, peaking at 275K fires in 2004 and reaching 126K fires in 2023. This legislation expanded coverage through Medicaid and health insurance marketplaces, significantly increasing enrollment. Government initiatives like Healthy People 2030 aim to improve access and reduce disparities among vulnerable populations. As a result, the uninsured rate dropped from 45M in 2013 to 26M by 2022, highlighting a commitment to health equity and accessibility for all Americans.
