🎓 6% of Winter Programs Were State/Church Diplomas

In 2022–2023, German universities offered 1,305 state/church diploma programs, reflecting their importance in theological education alongside dominant bachelor’s and master’s programs. Aligned with Germany’s education goals, initiatives like the Excellence Strategy, Digital Strategy 2025, and increased R&D funding strengthen innovation and inclusivity. Efforts also focus on internationalization, equitable access through BAföG reforms, and sustainability.
