πΆ 40% of Kids Aged Under 3 were in Formal Childcare
Between 2013 and 2023, EU formal childcare for children under 3 rose from 27% to 37.5%, despite a dip in 2020 due to the pandemic. This growth reflects EU goals like the Barcelona Targets and the 2019 Council Recommendation, which aim for 45% childcare participation by 2030. These policies promote early childhood development and social inclusion by expanding access to high-quality, affordable childcare, supporting parents, and fostering lifelong learning and economic growth.
π 5% Growth in US Manufacturing Jobs
US manufacturing jobs fell from 17.3M in 1970 to 12.8M in 2024. In response, government policies like the American Jobs Plan, pledging over $2 trillion in workforce infrastructure, and the Made in America plan, focused on limiting imports and strengthening the manufacturing sector through tariff measures. These plans aim to boost workforce income by over 5% in 2025 alone, with continued growth expected in the following years.
βοΈ UK Caretakers Reached 800K in 2023
Between 2018 and 2023, the number of registered nurses and midwives in the UK grew by 15%, from 693,614 to 797,928, with the largest increase in 2023 (+34,406). This growth reflects rising healthcare demand and government initiatives such as the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan and UK locals recruitment prioritisation, which expand training opportunities and enhance international recruitment to address workforce shortages and improve care across the UK.
