Dell reduced its workforce by 10% for the fiscal year 2025, focusing on cost-cutting. Andhra Pradesh partnered with Cisco to offer 50,000 learners digital skills training. Sindh, in collaboration with Google and Tech Valley, is offering 30,000 scholarships for Google Career Certificates. Egypt launched a nationwide digital skills training program with a budget of $79M.

For the fiscal year 2026, the company anticipates challenges in its adjusted gross margin rate due to the rising costs of building AI servers in a competitive market.
Over 3x Rise in New AI Jobs Between 2018 and 2024
💻 AI jobs in the U.S. peaked at 26,000 in 2021 but dropped to 14,000 in 2024, aligning with a decline in global corporate AI investment since 2022. However, global private AI investment still reached $93.5B in 2022.
⚙️ AI is bridging the skills gap, enhancing productivity, and attracting major investment. China expects AI to generate $154.6B annually by 2030, highlighting its role in automation, data insights, training, and innovation.
🚀 As AI adoption grows, regulations are emerging to address risks. The EU proposed the AI Act, while the US released a report advocating for greater transparency and accountability in AI systems.
Upskilling/Reskilling Intiatives
🌐 The Andhra Pradesh government partnered with Cisco to boost digital skills. This MoU provides 50,000 learners access to Cisco’s Networking Academy, bridging the skills gap and enhancing employability. The initiative includes self-learning, instructor-led courses, virtual internships, and workforce development programs. Government officials will also access specialized courses.
💡 Sindh partnered with Google and Tech Valley to offer 30,000 scholarships for Google Career Certificates. This initiative equips university students with digital skills in AI, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, IT Automation, and Project Management. The MoU was signed at CM House, emphasizing its role in preparing youth for the evolving job market. Education leaders and officials attended, reinforcing the province’s commitment to workforce development and globally recognized skill-building opportunities.
🤖 Egypt launched a training initiative to build digital skills. It focuses on AI, programming, cybersecurity, and digital arts, open to all nationwide. Participants gain hands-on experience through industry partnerships, and advanced tracks include master’s degrees. Targeting 5,000 trainees yearly, the program has a budget of $79M to expand Egypt’s digital workforce. President El-Sisi stressed transparency to ensure fairness and effectiveness.
