📖 Mongolia Tops APAC Literacy Rate

In 2022, adult literacy rates in the Asia-Pacific region varied significantly, from Mongolia's 99.18% to Afghanistan's 37.27%. Countries with lower literacy rates, like Bangladesh (74.91%), Nepal (71.15%), and Timor-Leste (69.9%), face substantial educational challenges. These challenges include inadequate infrastructure, limited resources, and socio-economic barriers, emphasizing the urgent need for targeted interventions to improve literacy and educational access.

🌱 Wind Drives EU Power Generation

From 2013 to 2021, the EU's renewable electricity mix evolved notably, with wind power rising from 236.6 terawatt hours (TWh) to 386.5 TWh and solar power from 85.6 TWh to 163.8 TWh. Hydraulic power stabilized around 348 TWh, and biomass increased to 173.4 TWh. Ocean and geothermal energies remained minimal, highlighting the need for further investment to reach the EU target of 45% renewable share by 2030.

🌐 Global Internet User Base Grew 4x

From 2009 to 2022, global internet users grew notably. Asia led with a rise from 764.4 million to 2,934.18 million users, driven by affordable mobile devices and increased digital infrastructure. Europe's users increased from 425.8 million to 750.04 million, aligning with the EU's goal for 100% connectivity by 2030. Africa saw a rise from 86.2 million to 652.86 million, though challenges remain. With high initial penetration rates, North America and Oceania/Australia experienced slower growth. Bridging access gaps is essential for inclusive digital participation.
