🏫 70% of US Schools Offer Some Form of Teacher AI Training

The rapid rise of AI has led to widespread adoption, especially among students, leaving many teachers unprepared. Nearly 70% of public schools in the US offer some AI training, but it's not enough to match students’ growing proficiency. Around 70% of teachers in the US and UK report little to no formal AI training. In response, governments are launching teacher upskilling initiatives. The US recently signed an executive order prioritizing AI integration in K–12 education, with a strong focus on training educators.

⚕️ The US-Led NATO in Healthcare Spending as a Share of GDP

The US spends the most on healthcare among NATO countries, allocating over 16% of its GDP. However, higher spending doesn't guarantee better outcomes. According to the 2024 Commonwealth Health Report, the US ranks last in overall healthcare performance, which considers access, quality, and other factors. While US is known for advanced medical cutting-edge technologies and highly skilled doctors, its system remains costly and less accessible. In contrast, countries with universal healthcare, like Australia and the Netherlands, rank higher.

🏭 Poland Led in Defense Spending, Allocating >4% of Its GDP

Global defense and advanced manufacturing are closely linked, as technologies like drones, missiles, aerospace, and space defense demand incredibly precise and cutting-edge technologies. With rising geopolitical tensions, many nations are under pressure to boost their defense budgets, and Poland is now the leading NATO country in defense spending as a share of GDP. While this can drive R&D and industrial growth, it raises ethical concerns. Increasing military expenditure may divert resources from essential sectors, potentially harming broader advanced manufacturing. Sustainable development requires a balanced approach that prioritizes both security and socio-economic progress.
