🏫 Out-of-School Students Up 60% in South Africa

South Africa's out-of-school children fell from over 1.3M in 2002 to 282K in 2017, owing to education reforms. However, the COVID-19 pandemic reversed this progress, with numbers rising to 963K by 2022. The National Development Plan aims to achieve 90% literacy and numeracy by 2030, addressing challenges linked to increasing out-of-school children.

πŸš— EV Registrations in Brazil Rose 40%

Brazil registered 2,934 electric and hybrid vehicles from 2006 to 2015, while in 2016, the country saw 3,300 registrations. In 2022, registrations grew by 42% from 2021, reaching 50,011, reflecting increasing adoption of cleaner transport. Government efforts, including the Mover program and progressive tax policies, aim to phase out new combustion vehicles by 2035, supporting sustainable mobility and local production.

βš•οΈ 40% of Mexicans Without Healthcare Access in 2022

Mexico's population share considered vulnerable due to inadequate access to health services decreased from nearly 40% in 2008 to 15.5% in 2016 but grew to 39% by 2022, largely due to COVID-19, which caused a rise to 28% in 2020. In response, the government needs to adopt reforms aligning with the Universal Health Coverage program and increase focus on programs such as Seguro Popular de Salud (SPS).
