🎓 Economics Students Lead Italy’s University Enrollment

In the 2020/2021 academic year, Italy's university enrollment was highest in Economics (50,054 students) and Engineering (40,730). Despite high STEM enrollment, Italy faces significant skill gaps, with 40% of companies reporting IT shortages in 2023. This mismatch underscores the need for better alignment between academic programs and industry requirements.

💨 UK’s Offshore Wind Capacity Grew by 4x

The United Kingdom's offshore wind capacity increased from 1.3 GW in 2010 to 13 GW in 2023, a tenfold increase, while onshore capacity grew from 4 GW to 15 GW. With a total wind power capacity of 28 GW and a target of 40 GW offshore by 2030, the UK aims to double its current capacity to meet its net-zero emissions goal and strengthen energy security.

💻 China’s Insurance Plans Favor Orthopedic Materials

The 2021 Chinese basic medical insurance list emphasizes orthopedic materials with 22,134 items, reflecting their importance in care. The inclusion of 6,019 medical hygienic materials highlights infection control. The broad range, including non-vascular and vascular interventions, supports comprehensive patient care and aligns with efforts to enhance healthcare accessibility.
