🏫 >3.5K Schools in England Running at an Overcapacity Level

Over the past decade, the number of schools operating at an overcapacity level in England increased from 14% in 2015 to nearly 25% in 2023, reaching over 3.5K schools. This increase stems from population growth, underfunding, and gaps in planning. Overcrowding affects academic performance and heightens emotional and psychological stress among students, and exacerbates teacher workload, resulting in teacher shortages. While government initiatives are underway, the scale of the issue demands urgent, targeted solutions to meet rising student demand.

⚕️ Share of Uninsured US Adults Fell Nearly 5%

Between 2020 and 2024, the uninsured rate among US adults dropped from nearly 15% to 10% driven by stronger employer‑sponsored coverage, growing awareness, and government initiatives. The American Rescue Plan Act expanded ACA subsidies and eliminated subsidy cliffs, while pandemic-era Medicaid continuous enrollment and enhanced funding boosted public coverage. Collectively, these measures significantly increased insurance uptake, reducing the share of uninsured adults in the US.

🏭 Europe’s Automotive Industry Installed 23K New Robots

In 2024, Europe’s automotive industry reinforced its position as a global automation leader, installing 23K new industrial robots, surpassing North America’s 19K installations. According to Takayuki Ito, President of the International Federation of Robotics, the automotive sector remains Europe's top robotics customer, unaffected by the post-pandemic slowdown seen in other markets. The region’s car manufacturing is among the most automated globally, with six European nations ranking in the top 10 for automotive robot density in 2023. Switzerland led with nearly 4K robots per 10K factory workers, highlighting the sector's deep automation commitment.
