πŸŽ“ 20K Computer Science Enrollments in Myanmar in 2020

In 2020, Myanmar's higher education enrollment featured significant numbers in computer science with 18,000 and medicine with 10,000, aligning with national tech and healthcare goals. However, political instability from the 2021 coup resulted in a 70% decline in state university enrollment, highlighting the pressing need for government intervention to stabilize education and address skill gaps.

πŸ’¨ Asian Wind Energy Up 5X

Asia's wind energy production rose from 134 TWh in 2012 to 750 TWh in 2021, marking a fivefold increase, largely driven by China and India’s ambitious renewable energy goals. China targets 1,200 GW of wind and solar by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, while India aims for 50% non-fossil power by 2030, underscoring Asia’s commitment to sustainable energy growth. ASEAN as well set a target of having renewable energy account for 35% of its power capacity by 2025 to meet COP21 targets.

βš•οΈ 10% of Refugee Deaths Due to Malaria

In 2023, malaria was the leading cause of death in refugee camps, accounting for 10% of fatalities, followed by neonatal deaths at 7% and lower respiratory infections at 6%. Cardiovascular diseases contributed 5% and anemia 4%, highlighting urgent health challenges. The UNHCR advocates for the inclusion of refugees in national health systems, ensuring they receive healthcare comparable to host populations, and aligning with SDG 3 for universal health coverage and essential services.
