π 2024 Europe EdTech 200
Last week HolonIQ launched the annual list of Europe's most promising 200 EdTech startups. The 2024 Europe list sees a decline in the number of early stage ventures, perhaps due to continued tight funding environments. Overall we see increasing diversity in country representation from Europe, signaling continued investment in, and acceptance of technology in education across European nations. Growth in EdTech for workforce and skills takes this segment to almost one-quarter of the list, with other categories remaining relatively steady compared with previous years.
Almost one-quarter of this year's cohort operate in the workforce and skills segment, with upskilling solutions ranging from cybersecurity training to training skilled craftsmen, digital skills training, and micro-learning. Mentoring platforms and matching solutions also feature strongly this year. Management systems represent one in five, with learning environments supporting institutions and organizations as a core component of their digital infrastructure for learning.
π Charts Spotlight - More Mature Start-ups in the 2024 Cohort than Previous Years
Subscribe to HolonIQ's 'Chart of the Day,' a daily newsletter that helps explain the global impact economy, from climate tech to education and healthcare.
Due to unfavorable market conditions, the number of early-stage startups in the Europe EdTech 200 is at its lowest since 2021. Of the startups under three years old in the list, three quarters provide workforce-related services. On the other hand, mature startups in the list concentrate on segments such as learning environments (Obrizum, Taskbase), language learning (Tandem, Twenix), school management and communication systems (Kinderpedia, Wonde, Classter), and STEAM solutions (Coding Giants, MEL Science)
