🏫 20% of East Asian EdTech Startups Worked in STEAM Education

Advanced tech, knowledge and content, and workforce and talent startups each represented nearly 10% of EdTech startups in East Asia in 2023, with advanced tech showing strong growth. This signals the embedding of AI deeply into educational content and talent development, a trend reflected in South Korea's introduction of digital textbooks and Japan's integration of AI in the education system. Global electric energy storage capacity surged to over 55GW in 2023, a more than thirty-four-fold increase from just over 1.5GW in 2015, demonstrating rapid expansion. This steep upward trajectory highlights an accelerating global shift toward advanced energy storage solutions, with growing innovation in battery technologies beyond traditional lithium-ion, such as supercapacitors and SMES. This development is significantly supported by US government tax credits aimed at boosting clean energy and storage deployment.

🤖 >50% of Business AI Upgrades Due to Data Security Concerns

Data security and tech resilience led as drivers of AI infrastructure upgrades for businesses in 2023. This highlights the ongoing need for AI systems to evolve, managing both new capabilities and significant risks. Nvidia's NVLink Fusion for customizable AI and advanced AI reasoning models push infrastructure demands. Meanwhile, with over 70% of firms boosting AI security investments due to GenAI threats, frameworks like NIST's AI attack taxonomy are becoming crucial.
